Intel Core i7 Gaming PC – Intel Core i7 920 Unboxing Video

In this video I unbox the Intel Core i7 C0 Stepping Quad Core Processor. The Core i7 is Intel’s newest quad core offering. The Core i7 is a 2.66 GHz CPU with 8MB L3 Cache. It was build using a 45nm process utilizes Intel’s new LGA1366 socket. The Core i7’s now use QPI also known as Quick Patch Interconnect which replaces the front side bus. Also, the memory controller is now on the chip on no longer on the motherboard. I am going to be using this i7 in my upcoming Core i7 Gaming PC build. Stay tuned for more videos. Ok. any experts know the difference between Intel Core i7-920 and i7-860?
860 seems like a clear choice because of the .5ghz extra “max turbo frequency” but other than that, anything different?

Is thermal spec the max temp it can go?

It’s best not to touch the back of your chip not only due to static reasons, but the oil on you finger that can prevent the chip from making good contact with the socket.

A cool than, i thought noo dont toach it like that bro hehe. Take it easy

9 MyazXtr3me { 04.16.10 at 11:17 pm }

static shock

10 kodemunke { 04.16.10 at 11:24 pm }

Ok, why would that be a problem?

11 kodemunke { 04.16.10 at 11:59 pm }

That is why you touch a piece of grounded metal before you touch any kind of electrical hardware. My body was perfectly grounded before touching this CPU.

12 MaliDachi { 04.17.10 at 12:12 am }

You know sometimes when you toach a car and you get a little electric shock. Spark+chip=bye bye few hundred bucks

13 MyazXtr3me { 04.17.10 at 12:20 am }

your fingers were touching the back chip.

14 kodemunke { 04.17.10 at 1:16 am }

It’s not as fragile as you think.

15 kodemunke { 04.17.10 at 2:15 am }

How so?

16 kodemunke { 04.17.10 at 3:11 am }

If it comes with a stock intel cooler there will be thermal paste pre-applied to the stock heatsink base.

17 MyazXtr3me { 04.17.10 at 3:26 am }

Your holding it pretty dangerously there.

18 SeeN0More { 04.17.10 at 3:51 am }

what about the intel quad, does that come with thermal paste?

19 MaliDachi { 04.17.10 at 4:14 am }

@CoasterChick22 i got mine for 344aud from centrecom.

20 MaliDachi { 04.17.10 at 4:40 am }

be careful with touching it like that lol

21 TheMRamstaff { 04.17.10 at 5:04 am }

nope a thermal pad is not the paste on intell cooler the thermal pad is the pad u put on ram coolers to stick it to it and it is not as heatconductive D:

22 karkrashful { 04.17.10 at 5:39 am }

called a thermalpad

23 kodemunke { 04.17.10 at 6:16 am }

The stock intel cooler comes with thermal paste already applied to the base of the cooler.

24 MicH1g4N { 04.17.10 at 7:04 am }

Does the packaging include thermal paste? Or do i have to buy it separately if i go for the i7?

25 kodemunke { 04.17.10 at 7:13 am }

@CoasterChick22 Yep!
